The Hardisty Ski and Board Club

Purpose:

To create a recreational downhill racing program for young skiers that is:
  affordable
  skill enhancing
  fun
  safe

Background:

The current Alberta Alpine racing program is a high level competitive environment geared towards developing world class racers.

Proposal:

  focus on skill development
  fun and less competitive
  affordable and accessible

Organizations:

Drumheller Ski Club
Valley Ski Club(Alliance)
Wetaskiwin Ski Club
Hardisty Ski and Board Club

With these guidelines and goals in place, the Hardisty Ski Club was formed and joined this series. The Hardisty Ski Club trys to ensure that kids have the same coach every weekend. This is very important to a child's learning and creates a trusting friendship between the child and coach. We also prefer that the coaches be at least Level I Certified by the Canadian Ski Coaching Federation and/or Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance. Each program includes a 7-level learning process referred to as the new Alpine Canada Snow Stars Racing Program. This program will take your child through 7 levels including achievement pins, level stickers, and a parent's handbook.
