Feb 3 2001 Race Results
February 3, 2001. The second race of this season took place at Alliance, hosted by the Valley Ski Club. This year, they ran a dual slalom format with a twist. although the individual placings were recorded for each racer,
the teams weren't Club against Club, but rather, the kids were divided up into teams. So there were teams from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, and Italy. Officially Andrea, Jeremy, Crystal, and Latisha and
Team Austria too the team honors. As far as our racers, well we had a large complement of 25 along for this trip. Kylie again took top honors for the 6 and under girls, , with Justine again placing second. Best of all
is that this time there was a field of 8 racers. So GREAT stuff girls! Stephany had troubles this time, but hopefully she can get the format figured for the next event so she can show her form too! The four boys in the
6 and under group did fine too, and although we didn't take any placings, Tyler, Kent, Reid, and Scott still had a super time! We had a little more success with our 7 & 8 girls with Jill streaking to a fine second, Cassie
taking another third and fine runs by Andrea and Becky. Our 7 & 8 boys did great, with James taking the gold, and Jeremy close behind for the bronze. Also, Aaron really made GREAT gains in his times, missing placing by just a
few seconds. Great stuff Aaron!! With the 9 & 10 girls Mackenzie (3rd) and Ali (5th) did fantastic. It was great to see Lauren make two nice runs, as well as did Jackie, Crystal and Stacy. Ryan was again our only representative
in the boys 9 & 10, but again did us proud with yet another fine 4th place. Stevie also took home another 4th in the 11 & 12 girls, and Jill and Latisha also made a couple very nice runs. Good stuff girls! Again, our oldest
representative, Rochelle, did fine, and although her times were a little off, you can really see the gains she is starting to make with her skiing this season. I guess that afternoon with the level 3 instructor paid off,
right Rochelle? :-) Well that wraps up the results from the Alliance event, and unfortunately I was again down south visiting our new daughter, and Coach Don was away too, so we don't have any pictures for this event.
