Mar 11, 2000 Race Results

March 11, 2000. The wind up of the second racing season, and first full season for the Hardisty Ski and Board Club. And again the kids did terrific!! Some very consistant results are starting to show! The team took a Sun Valley Tours bus again for the trip to Drumheller. If you gotta go, it's sure nice to go in style!! Thanks to Sun Valley Tours, and thanks Marg for stopping at McDonalds!! That sure went over!! Hmm what is it about those happy meals and those toys?!?!!? Anyway, the day was a little colder that was expected, but still not bad, about -15, so the kids had to keep moving a bit to keep warm. No sitting around this time! Then ran a single modified GS and reset the course for the 9 and ups. For the first grouping, Good job Jill for your second medal in a row!! And way to go Kylie for your first ribbon!! Jeremy again had a couple great runs and also received a ribbon for his efforts! The team really did well in the next group, with both Ali (her first ribbon) and Cassie (second in a row) taking ribbons and Mackenzie taking a second medal and third placing in the last three races!! Awesome stuff guys!! James was his usual royal fastness, again placing, taking home a bronze medal this time!! And we are not done yet, Stevie again had came home with a fourth for her efforts, just missing the medals and Ryan again placed with a ribbon. Three placings in a row for Stevie, and two in a row for Ryan!! Toooo cool!! And of course, since the racing is as much for the fun as it is for the competition, everyone who came home with a smile is a winner in my books!! Terrific job everyone, and I don't know about the kids, but I sure am looking foreward to next season!!

Heading Home
Hey Ryan, glad ya stuck around for your picture this time!!!

Well apparently as you can see from the one action shot in this series, that new cam just doesn't like the conditions of shooting in snow. It almost looks like the cam picked things up in 16 color. It did fine for the presentation pictures though. So it's still going to take a little more figuring to get the thing to work nice for the action pics. Doh!!
