Easy Card
When we consider Math and Magic, cards are an excellent example
of Patterns and Relations. Most card tricks are someone knowing the
patterns or realtionship of the cards to each other and someone else
not knowing. Following is an old but good one you can figure out.
Four Square Cards
- Deal 16 cards into 4 rows of 4
- Have someone mentally choose a card and tell you only the column
it is in.
- Pick up the fourth column first and place face down in a pile.
- Do the third column and place on face down pile. Continue for
column 1 & 2.
- Deal out the cards row by row left to right.
The top row first, then continue.
- Ask the chooser to tell which column their card is in.
- Remember the person's first column choice which is now the row
and the new column choice. Where these two intersect
is the card.
