Southside Prayer Ministries What an exciting time to be involved in prayer at Southside Victory Church. Prayer is at the foundation of everything we do at Southside. Our regular prayer initiatives include our Tuesday Night Prayer, Sunday Prayer Ministries, and Noon Hour Prayer. Throughout the church year we devote time to a week of fasting and prayer, prayer conferences, and prayer ministry training to equip believers to do the "work of the ministry" Eph 4:12. Tuesday Night Prayer Tuesday night is our weekly prayer night that is open to everyone. The service starts at 7pm and is led by our pastors in seeking God's will for our local body, the City of Calgary, and the Nation of Canada. Special Prayer Dinners are held quarterly throughout the year that serve as a rallying point for our church to refocus and regroup in our prayer efforts. Over the years, these meetings have become the "heartbeat" of our church. Sunday Prayer Ministries Our Sunday Prayer Ministries include Pre-service Prayer, Prayer Pairs, and Ministry Teams. Pre-service prayer is held before every Sunday service and is open to all who want to join us in our efforts to seek God's desires for the upcoming service. Our Prayer Pairs are made up of dedicated church members who pray continually during our Sunday services. This vital prayer covering aids in creating a spiritual atmosphere for the congregation to enter into God's presence and receive His power and anointing. Our Ministry Teams consist of anointed and trained church leaders who have the gift and desire to pray for the needs of others. There are always opportunities to receive personal ministry at Southside, and our Ministry Teams have been trained according to James 5:16 to pray "fervent and effectual" prayers. Noon Hour Prayer Come and join our staff as we pray over the noon hour Monday through Thursday each week. We began this initiative in 2004 and it has become a means for us to systematically and with a united voice cover church, city, national and global prayer projects. It is a great way to get used to praying for one hour - we change the style and content of the praying every 15 minutes, and we all pray in unity. The leading from the Lord behind this noon hour prayer is to expand it gradually into a "House of Prayer" in which we would do our part in Calgary in bringing 24-7 prayer to Calgary. We believe that our mission to create an atmosphere for revival in the Land will occur through heart-felt, informed, and sustained intercession. Our noon hour prayer and expansion of this initiative is a way for us to aggressively move into this arena. |
