Current Initiatives (2004-05)
The first piece of the ILE Communications plan has been the launch, (in early
2005) of the web-site. The purpose of the site is to give external viewers an
introductory sense of the purposes and activities if the Institute. It is
expected that the site will be amended and upgraded as the Institute further
develops its various programs and initiatives.
The current focus with regard to publications is the completion of a draft
curriculum framework for a middle school academic program. A second goal is to
complete a draft version of a Practical Reasoning instructional book that would
be suitable for middle school students. It is expected that both of these will
be complete by the spring or summer of 2005.
With regard to events, work is currently underway to host a small conference on
Liberal Education in the spring or summer of 2005. More details to follow.
